BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: SHOPS OF WISCONSIN RENOVATIONS (PHOTOS)

Douglas Development's extensive property renovations at the Shops of Wisconsin shopping center, located at 6831 Wisconsin Avenue, continues. Best known for its anchor tenant, Trader Joe's, the center is getting a major exterior upgrade.

BETHESDA CRESCENT BUILDING RENOVATION UPDATE - AND A SUPER X-RAY (PHOTOS)

Renovations continue at the Bethesda Crescent Building. I found an interesting sign that says the building will be closed 11:00 PM to 6:00 AM (that actually covers 2 separate days...) November 6 (today) "due to an x-ray taking place." This sounds like a job for Mulder and Scully.

BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: RENOVATIONS AT BETHESDA CRESCENT BUILDING (PHOTOS)

Renovations continue at the Bethesda Crescent building at 4600 East-West Highway. The lobby is being redone, and public art was decommissioned here after space was given to Bethesda Urban Partnership at 7475 Wisconsin Avenue for the art gallery now called Gallery B.

Bethesda Crescent Co., LLP also contributed funds to improve lighting and install public art in the Metro tunnel beneath Wisconsin Avenue.

WESTWOOD SHOPPING CENTER HOSTING FALL FESTIVAL, CONTINUES PROPERTY IMPROVEMENTS (PHOTOS)

New owner Equity One is continuing to update the infrastructure at the venerable Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda. Painters have been adding a fresh coat of white paint to the center's exterior over the last week. And a brick retaining wall and fence alongside Anglo Dutch Pools & Toys are being repaired.



The shopping center will host a Fall Fest this Saturday, October 18, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. There will be music, snacks and prize giveaways. Children's activities will include a Halloween-themed Pumpkin Moon Bounce, face painting and pumpkin decorating.

JS AUDIO-VIDEO STORE RENOVATING IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Renovations have closed the showrooms at JS Audio-Video on St. Elmo Avenue temporarily. However, the store's lobby remains open during the remodeling, which is expected to take about a month. JS Audio Video specializes in high-performance audio and video systems, and home theater installation.

NAKED PIZZA CLOSES FOR RENOVATIONS (PHOTO)

Naked Pizza is the latest Bethesda business to temporarily close for interior renovations. They are directing customers to their other locations, although none of them are convenient to Bethesda (McLean, Reston, Pentagon Row and Ballston. No reopening date has been given at this point.

COURAGE. b BOUTIQUE TO CLOSE TEMPORARILY FOR RENOVATIONS AT BETHESDA ROW (PHOTO)

COURAGE. b, a women's apparel boutique on Bethesda Lane, will close temporarily for remodeling between September 14 and 25. The shop will reopen on September 26. In the meantime, all summer stock is up to 80% off.
