BANG & OLUFSEN SET TO MOVE OUT OF BETHESDA STORE (PHOTOS)

As I exclusively reported in May, Bang & Olufsen is moving out of its Bethesda store, and consolidating with its sister store at Logan Circle in the District. Operations at the Bethesda shop are winding down, inventory is moving out, and hours may be limited and sporadic until the final day in Bethesda, November 20.

Store manager Torsten Severtson said previously that Bethesda customers would not have cause for concern with product support, as B&O representatives will travel to them as needed. The store at 5001 Wilson Lane, in the distinctive Peripoint building, has been for lease by Bethesda real estate firm Streetsense for about six months.

During the remaining days in Bethesda, the store says it is best to call 303-951-5870 before venturing in, so you can be assured of an appointment if the store is not open full hours. Alternatively, you can go to the Logan Circle showroom at 1604 14th Street NW in the District.

DEFINITION BOUTIQUE TO CLOSE IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Definition Boutique will be closing on Bethesda Avenue, and is holding a Closing Sale to liquidate their inventory. Located below the Wisconsin Avenue Starbucks, the boutique has specialized in European labels. Prices during the sale are 30-70% off. However, a final closing date has not been announced yet.

HAMBURGER HAMLET IS BEING REPLACED BY NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE'S IN BETHESDA, HINODE TO CLOSE, AND LIVING IN THE 90s

Not Your Average Joe's is taking over the vacant Hamburger Hamlet space, in the Georgetown Square Shopping Center in Bethesda. I think it's a positive turn of events, compared to some of the rumored tenants we had heard about.

The chain was launched by founder Steve Silverstein in 1994, with the goal of bringing high-quality American cuisine to suburban areas. The Kentlands location's menu sounds good, particularly the Peanut Butter Thing on the dessert menu. Pizzas, burgers and sandwiches share billing with more upscale fare, like rosemary skewered scallops and saffron cod with pan-seared crab cake.

In sadder news, Hinode is closing July 19 on Hampden Lane in downtown Bethesda. Its Rockville and Frederick locations remain open. Hinode is definitely one of the restaurant names that comes to mind when I think of the 1990s dining scene in downtown Bethesda. Houston's, anyone? How about Cooker?
