The 17-story 7770 Norfolk luxury apartment tower continues to make progress at the corner of Norfolk and Fairmont Avenues in downtown Bethesda. Some of the first glass is being installed on the lower floors right now. You can see corner balconies that look almost livable right now, minus their necessary railings, of course. 7770 Norfolk is being developed by The JBG Companies.

BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: 7770 NORFOLK LUXURY APARTMENTS (PHOTOS)
Here's the latest update from The JBG Companies' 7770 Norfolk luxury apartment tower construction site at Norfolk and Fairmont Avenues in Bethesda. There's an interesting new structural detail: angled support columns between some of the floors, which you can see in the third and fourth photos below. The finished product will be 17 stories, so we still have a ways to go here.

BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: 7770 NORFOLK LUXURY APARTMENTS (PHOTOS)
The future 17-story apartment tower at 7770 Norfolk Avenue was a conversation-starter for many attendees at Saturday's Taste of Bethesda, with its skeletal structure looming over the block where many entered the food and entertainment festival. The JBG Companies project has added about 2 additional stories since my last update, and the extra height allows for some good close-up photographic views from nearby vantage points.

BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: 7770 NORFOLK LUXURY APARTMENT TOWER (PHOTOS)
The Bainbridge Bethesda has drawn a lot of attention this week, with its Grand Opening celebration. But people coming to and from the Bainbridge on the Fairmont Avenue side can't help but notice the hulking structure rising across the street. That's The JBG Companies' 7770 Norfolk project, a 17-story luxury apartment tower with ground floor retail.

7770 NORFOLK STREET CLOSURE UPDATE
The previously-announced utility work around the 7770 Norfolk luxury apartment tower construction site in Bethesda is scheduled to begin today. An update from the Clark Construction contractor says the connection and extension of wet utility piping will necessitate detours of pedestrian and automobile traffic on Norfolk and Fairmont Avenues. The utility project will take approximately 7 weeks to complete. Watch for signage if you are walking or driving in that area. Property owners in the immediate vicinity have been informed of the work.
While there appears to be no change in the project itself, the update apparently is to address the fact that the previously-scheduled start date of September 3 has been updated to today. The affected section of Norfolk is between Fairmont and Woodmont Avenues.

7770 NORFOLK LUXURY APARTMENTS CONSTRUCTION UPDATE (PHOTOS)
The future luxury apartment tower at 7770 Norfolk Avenue is really starting to head skyward towards its eventual 17 stories. JBG's mixed-use project reached street level recently. Now a good-size piece of the ground floor is taking shape behind the walls at Norfolk and Fairmont Avenues.
You'll notice a Putzmeister on-site. That's a concrete placing boom, I believe. It is labeled Schuster Concrete on the side, which is a Maryland concrete firm with multiple plants, including its newest in Rockville.

BETHESDA CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: 7770 NORFOLK LUXURY APARTMENTS (PHOTOS)
The JBG Companies' 7770 Norfolk luxury apartment tower project has reached street level from its original, deep excavation. A 17-story building, 7770 Norfolk will feature a rooftop deck and pool. You can see in some of the pictures where cars will enter the ramp into the underground garage from Fairmont Avenue. Click to enlarge any photo for greater detail:
